our oldest is a decade old...

bubbies 10th birthday started right at 12:31 am. poor kid couldn't sleep. i don't know if it was excitement or the fact that noah was at a sleepover, but he was counting down. it was fun to wish him a happy birthday at the exact time he made his appearance into this world. i remember so clearly the day he was born...

he was up until 3 or 4 that morning and i told him to count sheep, but i guess it didn't work.

mimi and papa took us to bab's delta diner at 8 am. we enjoyed a yummy breakfast with them.

daddy had the day off...i love that my husband takes my kids birthday's off and my birthday off...it makes me feel special and i hope my kids know how special that is. it will be something they remember when they are all grown-up. we had a fun day as a family doing whatever zachary wanted. as hannah said in the car that day, "noah, this day is about making zachary happy, not you." haha. zach and i had a chuckle over that.

the three amigos...noah was missing because he was at a friends party.

gymnasts first meet

Hannah had her first Level 1 gymnastics meet on June 20. Level 1-3 is just for fun and to get them used to competing. They do learn routines and get to compete on beam, vault, floor and bars. They have judges, their scores go up on the big digital thingy-ma-jig, and at the end they get their places in each event and then for all-around.

Hannah did very well for her first time. She just needs to work on making those arms straight and tight when she salutes the judges.

Here are the results:

Vault 9.800-- 1st place
Beam 9.550-- 1st place
Floor 9.500-- 1st place
Bars 8.600-- 2nd place
All-Around-- 37.450 2nd place

After this meet, Hannah moved up to Level 2 Team. Besides doing Team, she is also in Dynamites 2, which meets 3 times a week. Dynamite gymnasts are hand picked by coaches. It is more challenging and they work on perfecting skills and body conditioning. The Dynamte girls are training to move right into Team Level 4 which is where you really compete. Hannah's biggest struggle right now is her upper strength, but it has been awesome to watch that develop so rapidly in the last year and a half!

sappy...

as i was about to update our blog, i had a déjà vu moment--because the thing i was going to post was the first thing that i started my blog with.

it seemed like a year ago was only yesterday. i know the saying "time flies" is used all the time, but it is so true. i know everyone already knows that...but really our time here is only for a blink of an eye. so with that...love those you love now, don't wait for tomorrow. tomorrow will have been yesterday and yesterday could have been a year, 10 years, etc. you can't get that time back, ever.

bff's till the end

i have a picture of zachary and his BF every year since kindergarden. this year was kind of a different year for zach. he and chris had been in class together since kindergarden, but this year, they were spilt up. of course, they met up at recess and lunch for their guy hang out time. it's so awesome to have good friends!

of course, zachary is being goofy...typical 9 (almost 10) year old behavior! but they are handsome boys.

last of school '09

the kids had their last day of school for the 2008-09 school on june 11. it's always an emotional time for momma...especially when we have great teachers to say good-bye too. at least for now, we have more galgan's coming up the ranks, but i don't know what i'm going to do once mea is in school.

here are their last day of school pictures with their teachers.
hannah and mrs. silva...seriously the best teacher you'll ever meet. so far, mrs. silva has had 3 galgan's! she is so patient, loving, easy-going...i've never heard her raise her voice, ever! hannah loves mrs. silva's daughter, emily, who is 3rd grade. mrs. silva has always said hannah was alot like her daughter...stubborn! haha.
noah and mrs. valenzuela...she is a sweet and quiet soul. noah enjoyed 2nd grade with her. she has a great sense of humor. noah really enjoyed her mom, who liked to travel all over, and would come in the class to share about her travels.

zachary and mrs. millward. she had me before school even started and i went to check to see whose class my kids were in. she had a postcard for each of her students with a personal note written to each of them! she is full of energy and smiles. the kids never left school without jumping up and giving her a high-five. ohhh, i love her! and we get our hair done by the same gal!
