our friends, the perry's, get forked up!

i was talking to a friend on the phone...and next thing i know, my boys are gone.

she noticed how it got so quiet and asked what the deal was.

i said i don't know, the boys took off.

it only took a second for hannah to spill the beans where the boys had gone off too...
they went to fork with the perry's!

they had so much fun and listening to deanna giggle about it was priceless! but, we are watching our back...

merry christmas

we got to mima and pop pop's to find the usual scrumptious spread. always come hungry when visiting mom and dad!

then we got busy exchanging gifts.

three generations of girls

here, we were trying to get a picture using the timer on the camera.so funny. look how the prego plopped on my lap, behind zachary, who thought it was funny to get in front of the camera right before it went off!

so then we yelled at the boys to stay out of the way, and what do you know, jess decides to throw up some bunny ears to ruin the picture...and i fired back with mine. colin and zach were so not amused.

here is our best family shot.

oh wait, that's joey! i was having flashbacks of my brother in his baby years!

CHRISTmas morning...family style

the kids fell asleep super fast christmas eve and were happy to wake up to see what santa had left. the kids even noticed santa's footprint in the fireplace and some glitter on the floor. then, outside, they found some jingle bells that must have fallen off his sleigh. the reindeer ate all their food that the girls had made and sprinkled on the grass. and of course, santa enjoyed his cookies we left out for him.

after we opened our gifts, i (mommy) made some german pancakes & crispy bacon. we quickly ate and then the kids got to playing with their new toys before we left to go to mima & pop's in elk grove.
merry christmas to all family and friends!
happy birthday, jesus!

happy CHRISTmas eve...

the boys had a fun morning of riding the ATV and dirt bike out on the church field. the morgan's and perry's brought their "toys" too. they had so much fun. even hannah got to hang with them for a little bit. so now, she can add "biker girl" to her description of herself.

i had some last minute, finishing touches to do in the morning...i was expecting it to be crazy out, but it was very calm at the outlets and even the grocery store. WHOO-HOO!

we were planning on the 3:00 service but we ran late in our getting ready efforts...so we just headed over to mimi and papa's. we helped mimi get dinner ready to eat for the rest of the family and that was fun.

we ate the traditional cheese fondue, tri-tip, and had a baked potato bar...mmm, mmm, good. then of course, yummy dessert! tis the season to eat :-)

the kids were soo excited to open gifts, so we got right to it! some of the highlights...

we wish you a merry christmas...

a fun thing when your kid is at preschool are the fun programs you get to watch them in. 3 year olds are so much fun to watch on stage! you just never know what is going to happen.
mea told us she was going to sing loud, but i think she got a little stage fright! she did pipe up during 'we wish you a merry christmas'. she made her mommy and daddy proud!

another thing i love about PEP is the gifts the kids make...they are always so unique and different every year. this year the kids made adorable ornaments for us!

she even picked out her own outfit. i wasn't sure if i should let the converse slide, but what the heck! it's so MEA.

santa and cookies followed the program, but mea was quite terrified of santa. she just wanted to get out of there as quick as possible! even the next day, we went back and watched her friends in the 4 year old class and she didn't want to stay and eat a cookie, all because of santa!
oh well, there is always next year!

oh, it's christmas in vacaville...

the first tuesday in december is our cities annual christmas tree lighting. a fun thing we do as a family every year. we get close to the stage, sing christmas songs, watch for santa to fly in, and get stuck in the crowd when it's over. the last part is not so fun, but it hasn't kept us from returning.

eddie k comes and sings his famous song, it's christmas in vacaville and throws out some cassette tapes. oh actually, he had CD's this year. way to get with the times, eddie.

and even better than eddie k, sorry babe, is holly stell, who is way more famous than him. by the way, her mom delivered noah. she always sings o' holy night. i just love it!

churches from all over the city and the business' on main street hand out hot chocolate, cider and cookies. and the muesuem hands out french onion soup--yum-o.

and, another fun part is seeing all your friends as you walk the downtown streets...even some facebook friends you haven't seen in awhile!

after we managed our way out of the crowd, we headed up to our friends house, got warm, and had more snacks. tis the season to eat!

Apple Hill 09

some people wake up and go shopping the friday after thanksgiving...our family, however, heads up the hill to go hunting. we hunt for the perfect christmas tree. it's our tradition. rain or shine. of course, in the rain, we pick a little bit faster.

this year, the rain came after we cut our tree...but we knew it was coming, so we tried to hurry. pleasing 6 fussy people is hard...but it worked out! the boys got a tree, the girls got a tree, and momma got her tree. daddy does the labor and yells TIMBER.
